This update solves one of the most common challenges in building complex automations, turning a simple filter into a genuine event detector. Let us look together at the difference between yesterday and today.

### Yesterday: imprecise, “noisy” automations

Until yesterday, the “opportunity updated” trigger worked as a generic filter. You could set a condition, for example “opportunity assigned to: Mario Rossi”, but the workflow fired on **any change** made to an opportunity that met that criterion.

That meant that if you added a note, changed the deal value or added a tag to an opportunity already assigned to Mario, the automation started all over again. The result? Endless unwanted triggers, needless notifications and a system less efficient than it could have been.

### Today: surgical precision with the new operators

With this update we have introduced two operators that change the rules of the game entirely:

- **Has changed**: the workflow fires only if the value of a specific field is modified, whatever the new value turns out to be.
- **Has changed to**: the workflow fires only if the value of a specific field changes and takes on a value you have defined in advance.

The trigger no longer simply checks whether a condition is true: it detects the exact moment a specific change happens. That lets you build automations that react only to the events that genuinely matter, cutting out all the background “noise”.

Imagine that Creativa Digital, an agency using Futuria CRM, wants to automate the onboarding of new customers. Their ideal workflow is this: when an opportunity moves from “In negotiation” to “Won”, a welcome email should automatically go out to the customer and a task should be created for the project manager.

**How it used to work**  
The agency set the trigger with the condition “Status = Won”. The problem was that every time a project manager updated an opportunity that had already been won (by adding a note about the project, say), the system sent the welcome email again and created another task. Duplicates everywhere, and confusion for both the customer and the team.

**How it works now in Futuria CRM**  
Today, Creativa Digital can set the trigger like this: “Status **has changed to** Won”.  
With that one small change, the workflow fires only once: at the precise instant the opportunity status moves from any other value to “Won”. Every later change, such as adding notes or updating custom fields, is ignored by the automation. The result is a clean, precise and professional process.

### How to use the new trigger

Putting this logic in place could not be simpler. When you create or edit a workflow with the “opportunity updated” trigger, select the field you care about (standard or custom). In the operator drop-down menu you will find the new “Has changed” and “Has changed to” options.

**No need to panic about your existing workflows!** Every workflow already live will carry on working exactly as before, using the “Equals” operator as its default. Nothing will break, but you now have the option to make them far more efficient.
